Introduce of the Waste plastic pyrolysis equipment
Waste plastic pyrolysis equipment is an environmentally friendly resource recycling system specifically designed for processing various types of waste plastics. The equipment employs high-temperature, oxygen-free pyrolysis technology, breaking down the high-molecular polymers in waste plastics into smaller-molecule compounds in a closed environment, ultimately converting them into high-value-added products such as fuel oil, solid fuel, and combustible gas.
This equipment can process a wide range of raw materials, including:
Packaging plastics: PE film, PP woven bags, PS foam, beverage bottles, etc.
Daily-use plastics: Plastic buckets, plastic basins, wire and cable sheaths, general household plastics, etc.
Industrial waste plastics: Injection molding scraps, plastic pipes, automotive plastic parts, etc.
Mixed waste plastics: Single or mixed plastics such as PP, PE, and PS.

Working Principle Of Waste Plastic Pyrolysis Plant
The core principle of waste plastic pyrolysis equipment is based on the thermal decomposition reaction of plastic polymers under anaerobic or oxygen-deficient conditions.
1. Raw Material Pretreatment and Feeding: After preliminary sorting and crushing, collected waste plastics are fed into the pyrolysis furnace via a hydraulic automatic feeder or screw conveyor.
2. High-Temperature Pyrolysis: In a fully enclosed, oxygen-free environment, the equipment heats the waste plastics to 300-500℃. At this temperature, the polymers (PE, PP, PS, etc.) in the plastics undergo a thermal decomposition reaction: long molecular chains break down into smaller molecules of oil and gas. The entire decomposition process lasts approximately 4-10 hours.
3. Condensation and Oil Recovery: The oil and gas produced by pyrolysis are discharged through pipelines and enter the condensation system. The oil and gas gradually condense into fuel oil and are stored in oil tanks. Non-condensable gases (i.e., non-condensable combustible gases) are returned to the furnace as fuel for heating, achieving energy self-sufficiency.
4. Slag Discharge and Flue Gas Treatment: After pyrolysis, the remaining solid fuel (carbon black) in the furnace is discharged through the slag discharge system.

Advantages of Waste plastic pyrolysis equipment
1. High Oil Yield, Significant Economic Benefits
Oil yield varies depending on the type of plastic: pure PE material yields approximately 70-80%, and pure PP material yields approximately 80%. The overall oil yield of mixed waste plastics is generally between 40% and 95%. The pyrolysis oil has a high calorific value and can be sold directly as fuel oil or further processed for use in power generation, industrial kilns, etc.
2. Strong Raw Material Adaptability, No Deep Cleaning Required
It can process various single or mixed plastics such as PP, PE, and PS. Unlike traditional granulation recycling, pyrolysis technology does not require deep cleaning of waste plastics and has strong tolerance to mud, impurities, and moisture, significantly reducing pretreatment costs.
3. Environmentally Compliant, No Secondary Pollution
The equipment adopts a fully enclosed production process, fundamentally eliminating dust and VOC leakage problems. Non-condensable combustible gases are purified and returned to the furnace for heating, achieving complete thermal self-sufficiency and significantly reducing operating costs. Flue gas emission indicators comply with EU EEA and US EPA standards.
4. Intelligent Automation, Easy Operation
The production line adopts a PLC/DCS intelligent automation control system, which monitors, collects, and processes data at each process point in real time, and features automatic correction and alarm functions. It requires fewer personnel and reduces labor intensity, truly achieving intelligent and safe operation.
5. Continuous Production, Efficiency Improvement of Over 30%
The continuous production line uses a dynamic sealed feeding system and a continuous discharge design, completely solving the problem of low efficiency in intermittent equipment. Energy consumption and coking risks are reduced, resulting in an overall efficiency improvement of over 30%.
Application Of Final Products
The three main products from waste plastic pyrolysis equipment have wide applications:
Pyrolysis oil :
Can be used directly in the heavy oil generator to get electricity.
Part of it can be used back in the pyrolysis machine for heating the reactor.
Can be sold directly; widely used in ceramic factories, cement factories, steel factories, hotels, etc.
Can be refined to be non-standard diesel; can be used in diesel generators, boats, and other heavy-duty, low-speed diesel engines.
Will be recycled to the furnace for heating the reactor.
Carbon black :
Can be pressed into briquettes and used as fuel.
Can be used to produce rubber pads, rubber belts, soles, etc.
Can be further reprocessed to be higher quality, and used as a fortifier and filler in the plastic and rubber industry or as color master batch.
Waste plastic pyrolysis equipment is widely used in the following scenarios:
Municipal Solid Waste Treatment: Resource recovery of waste plastics separated from municipal solid waste.
Recycling Companies: Core processing equipment for waste plastic recycling and processing enterprises.
Industrial Park Support: Providing waste disposal services for plastic product companies.
Agriculture: Resource recovery of waste agricultural film and mulch film.
Medical Waste Treatment: Harmless disposal of medical waste plastics.
Electronic Waste Treatment: Resource recovery of plastic components from electronic waste.
Distributed Urban and Rural Treatment: Distributed waste plastic treatment scenarios in cities, rural areas, and industrial parks.

F&Q
1. Can the equipment process all types of waste plastics?
A: It can process over 95% of common plastics, including PP, PE, PS, ABS, etc. Note that PET and PVC are not suitable for pyrolysis for oil extraction-PVC pyrolysis produces corrosive hydrogen chloride gas and requires pre-chlorination treatment. It is recommended to process PET and PVC separately.
2. Can waste plastics and waste tires be pyrolyzed together?
A: It's best to process them separately. The two materials have different pyrolysis temperatures, which will affect process stability. Waste plastic pyrolysis is prone to wax buildup and blockage; separate processing is recommended to increase product added value.
3. What is the oil yield for different plastics?
A: The oil yield varies considerably among different plastics:
PE (film, bottles, water pipes, etc.): Pure material oil yield is approximately 70-80%
PP (woven bags, bottle caps, car bumpers, etc.): Pure material oil yield is approximately 80%
Mixed waste plastics: Overall oil yield is generally between 40%-95%. The specific oil yield depends on the raw material quality and process control; please contact us to send samples for testing. 4. Waxing is a common problem during waste plastic pyrolysis. How can this be solved?
A: Waxing is indeed a common occurrence during waste plastic pyrolysis, potentially leading to pipe blockage, pressure buildup, and other problems. Solutions include:
Configuring a decoking device
Adding a dewaxing device
Regularly cleaning the pipelines
5. Does the waste plastic need to be cleaned before feeding?
A: No cleaning is necessary. The pyrolysis equipment is highly tolerant of impurities such as mud and moisture, and can be fed directly. However, pre-treatment cleaning will further improve the quality of the oil.
