Continuous Pyrolysis Equipment

Continuous pyrolysis equipment is a large-scale industrial system designed to decompose organic solid waste—such as waste tires, plastics, and biomass—into oil, combustible gas, and solid carbon through heating in an oxygen-deprived or low-oxygen environment. Unlike "batch-type" systems, its defining characteristic is uninterrupted operation: feedstock is continuously fed in while products are continuously discharged, eliminating the need to shut down the machine for slag removal or to cool it down before restarting.

Brief Introduction to Continuous pyrolysis equipment

Continuous pyrolysis equipment is a large-scale industrial system designed to decompose organic solid waste-such as waste tires, plastics, and biomass-into oil, combustible gas, and solid carbon through heating in an oxygen-deprived or low-oxygen environment. Unlike "batch-type" systems, its defining characteristic is uninterrupted operation: feedstock is continuously fed in while products are continuously discharged, eliminating the need to shut down the machine for slag removal or to cool it down before restarting.

Operation Description

1. Pre-treatment

Before entering the continuous pyrolysis plant, the waste needs to be pretreated. For example, scrap tires need to have the steel wire removed first, and then be crushed. After crushing, the particle size of the rubber powder is less than 5mm; the tire crusher crushes the tire into 30- 50 mm fragments. If the raw material is plastic, if the water content of the plastic is too high, it needs to be dried first, remove the bricks, glass, or other large hard objects in the plastic, and then crush the plastic. The specific conditions are pretreated according to the characteristics of the raw materials.

2. Feeding raw materials

The raw materials (which have been pretreated) are continuously transported to the reactor through the conveyor. The speed of conveying materials can be adjusted. Before feeding for the first time, check the equipment's tightness.

3. Pyrolysis

Coal, charcoal, gas, diesel, and other materials can be used to heat the pyrolysis reactor. Take tires as an example. When the temperature of the reactor reaches 160 degrees, oil gas begins to be produced, and the oil gas enters the gas distributor through the pipeline. According to the characteristics of raw materials, PLC control adjusts the rotation speed of the reactor.

4. Condensing

Using box cooling, this cooling method has the following advantages:

* Long cooling distance

* "S" type cooling, more cooling

* The pipe diameter is 219, 133, 108, which is easier to clean and maintain

5. Waste gas recovery

The gas that cannot be liquefied will return to the combustion system through a safety water seal. In general, the purchased fuel is used in the first 3 hours of starting up, and then the reactor is heated with its own non-condensable gas. Continuous cracking equipment saves fuel and reduces operating costs.

6. Discharge

The steel wire is removed before crushing, and the pyrolyzed carbon black is automatically discharged into the carbon black tank.

Tyre oil

Tyre pyrolysis oil can be widely used as fuel oil in steelmaking plants, glass plants, boiler plants, ceramics, electric power, or chemical industries. It can also be refined into diesel through tyre refining equipment.

Carbon black

Carbon black can be used in coal washing plants, clay building bricks, or as a rubber filler after deep processing.

Combustible gas

It can be used as fuel to heat the reactor after circulating.

Advantages of the continuous pyrolysis equipment

1.15CrMoR Material: Utilizes plates compliant with national standards for medium-to-high-temperature pressure vessels, making it suitable for long-term, continuous operation.

2. Continuous Operation: The continuous operation capability enables uninterrupted production, significantly enhancing the efficiency and output of the pyrolysis process.

3. Automatic Coke Removal System: Includes an automatic coke removal system to prevent the buildup of thick coke layers, ensuring continuous reaction and extending the equipment's service life.

FAQ

1. What raw materials can continuous pyrolysis equipment process?
Continuous pyrolysis equipment is primarily designed for waste tires-which must be shredded into rubber powder or granules sized 2.8–8 mm-but it can also process waste plastics, oil sludge, medical waste, and more. However, the process requires specific adjustments based on the raw material; for instance, processing plastics requires the addition of anti-coking and de-waxing devices, while oil sludge processing requires anti-coking equipment. Additionally, the material of the pyrolysis reactor must be selected or adjusted accordingly for different feedstocks. Please consult our technical staff for specific details.

2. What is the maximum continuous operating cycle for the continuous pyrolysis equipment?
In actual project cases, under conditions of compliant operation and regular inspections, the longest trouble-free operating record for the three-pass continuous rubber powder pyrolysis equipment manufactured by Jinzhen Machinery is 60 days. We also recommend scheduling a planned maintenance shutdown every 60 days, which takes approximately 2 to 3 days to complete.
